List of Project 211 Universities

This appendix compliments the discussion of Project 211 universities in the unit Teaching in Fields Other Than English. For a full discussion of Project 211 universities, it is recommended you consult that section first.

Project 211 universities are typically in great need of Western faculty, across all major disciplines, as (combined) they enroll 50 percent of all foreign, English-speaking undergraduate and post-graduate students in China and are responsible for producing 80 percent of the country's doctoral graduates. Although most of their foreign students are overseas Chinese and those from India and Pakistan, you will also find students from virtually all corners of the world enrolled there as well (including students from North America and England).
